    Are you aware…

that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month?  Well, it IS in case you were confused.  About a week ago, I  added a new badge to my sidebar stating as such…

Breast cancer has special meaning in my life…  My mom is a survivor.  I was actually born AFTER her radical mastectomy…even more shocking was that I was born within that critical 5 year window.  My parents met AFTER mom’s cancer.

All that being said…  Be aware of your “girls”…know your body… something seems odd…get it checked!!
I had my first mammogram at age 26 as a baseline… Nothing to be afraid of. Take charge of your health, of your body…it’s the only one you have!

I will now step down off my soap box and return you to your regularly scheduled programing…thank you and good night.

    This is a first….

On Thursday I decide it’s time to bring in my plants for the winter…not realizing the very next day it will be 88°F.

So yesterday afternoon I come around the corner in the family room and find this….
    It’s a tree frog!!
And it has adhered itself to the INSIDE of my brand new sliding glass door!!!! Are you kidding me!?!?
Apparently I moved his home indoors without an eviction notice.

I gently evicted him with the help of a plastic cup and spoon…wishing him a happy life somewhere in the OUTDOORS.

    October Dress

So here I am…a week past the October deadline for the Dress-up Project…  But on the bright side…it IS still October!!

Since I seem to be doing nothing but raking leaves lately, this seemed like the natural choice for October.  The bodice of the dress if cut from suede scraps. The skirt is made from a pack of silk leaves. Hot glue holds the whole works together.  Feels very woodland nymph-ish to me.  I even had to give a light spray of spray adhesive with a sprinkle of glitter for this one.

Hop on over to Margaret’s Alice and Camilla Blog to check out the other wonderful October Dresses!!  You won’t be sorry that you did!
