    T Tuesday: busy bee edition

Good morning…It’s Tuesday already…time for another edition of T stands for Tuesday hosted by Elizabeth.

Once again I have been busy, busy. For starters…I made soap again last week.20141003_7103 20141005_7104
I used a new recipe so we’ll see how it turns out in a month.20141002_7087 20141007_7111

The days seem to be taken up with creating more Holiday inventory. I have lots of work-in-progress.  I get tired of working on the same thing over and over again so I switch off often. I think that’s part of my craft ADD self diagnosis.20141002_7090

There are always more cards to make. I’m obsessed. I love doing these mini collages.20141007_7109

This morning I met a friend for a walk at the arboretum.  It was a bit chilly, so I brought my mittens just in case. I hate having cold hands.

My other new obsession is my fitbit.20141007_7113

I’m working really hard to get my steps in each day. It’s nice to be just over 2000 from my goal by 9am.  It’s paying off according to the scale.

I’m going to help out my mom in a bit then do some more crafting. What are you doing today?

    Many irons in the fire

I’ve set aside my art journals for the time being and have been pursing other ideas. Upcycling for instance.  T-shirts have been my material of choice. Dog chews and baby bibs are the result. No dogs or babies are in our future…whew…just had to put that out there.20140920_7030

The bottle caps that everyone has been saving for me are sorted for a garden art project.

I’ve been using the big machinery in the garage to help me out. I love using the power tools. 20140920_7029

I’ve also been turning out stacks and stacks of cards….no surprise there.20140920_7036

Basic utilitarian items have been created as well…I made 2 printer covers from a blackout curtain. The thickness of the backed fabric gave it the perfect amount of stiffness.

    How’s that for being random!?!

    Upcycled dog toys

After going through closets I discovered tons of t-shirts that could no longer be worn. Since I already have a huge stack of rags I decided to put on my thinking cap and come up with another idea.tug toy collage

Doggie tug toys…chewies or whatever you’d like to call them.  You may or may not know this but the pet supply industry is booming. People love their furry companions…they are family.  Now we may not have a dog as a pet, though Gracie tries her best to imitate one at times. tug toys

I’ve managed to make a pretty good stock pile of them for the holiday craft sale season.
