I want to share with you…
a garland the kids and I made. Ok..I know it’s not really an ornament and it’s not especially pretty but I love it anyway. I have to admit when I decided to do this craft project with them I had no idea how much prep work there would be. I had to dye different kinds of pasta with food coloring then set them aside to dry. Of course, this step took way longer than expected. Truth be told, I was ready to throw the whole project away but the kids were looking forward to it so much that I had to continue. We now have 2 strings of pathetically dyed pasta that grace our tree each year.
It may not mean that much to you, but those little munchkins not only enjoyed making it, they also get to remember that memory each year. I’m so glad to read about the strand of pasta.
I think the garland is beautiful. It represents time spent together. No greater gift.

I still have a little plastic heart Sarah gave me when she was in the first grade (1982). Red white and blue plastic with one little rhinestone glued on the edge. Not ever something I would have bought for myself to wear, but it is one of the most treasured pieces of jewelry I have.
To me it is priceless. She was so surprised a couple years ago to learn that I still have it.
