    Autism puzzle

My friend Theresa sent me 3 pieces of a larger children’s puzzle to alter. The completed puzzle with pieces from various artists will be donated to ART FOR AUTISM NOW.

Before I began I tried to think of what I wanted to say in this piece. I just sat back and thought of my boy and how sweet and loving he is. He is my totally unique, one-of-a-kind, sweet boy who just happens to have autism.

    ART NOW FOR AUTISM

I came across this a couple weeks ago, bookmarked it and totally forgot. I do that more than I’d like to admit.
Check out the website here at www.artnowforautism.com 100% of the proceeds from the sale will go to Autism Speaks.

I’m planning on sending off these 2 pieces that I’ve made over the past few years.

This is a cause VERY near to my heart. Our boy has Asperger’s Syndrome, which is on the autism spectrum. He is doing extremely well these days. We are so proud of him and how far he has come. People who knew him as a preschooler can hardly believe that the 8yr old in front of them is the same child.

    Searching the windows into autism

This is a very powerful piece for me. I had no idea what I had in mind when I sat down to create today. I had this old canvas laying around that I had covered over an unattractive collage with gesso. I grabbed it and started playing. This piece just sort of evolved from things I had laying around. Maybe it was a release for me…we’ve had some ups and downs lately. Hopefully everything is on the right track again…
