I came across this photo of my parents that was taken shortly after their wedding.
Mutton chops and a beehive…no mistaking that era!
The photo itself was in pretty poor shape so I figured I’d give it a new life.
I’ve been having so much fun making and playing with custom brushes in Photoshop.
The green, red and white image started with a photo I took of a Canna Lily blossom at my folks place last summer. After many layers of brushes and adjustments I got the image you see.
The white flowers and smudges on the surface are a brush I made from this image.
The pink background flower image below started as a macro shot of a poinsettia. Again lots of brushes, layers and adjustments made it look like this.
The top grey image may look vaguely familiar. I made a brush from a photo of the mixed-media painting I did last summer.
I’ve been doing a lot of digital work lately since most of my supplies are inaccessible. I made new backgrounds for both of my blogs.
I learned how to make my own brushes in Photoshop through a wonderful tutorial that Michele Ward shared on her blog. It has been so much fun making and playing with these new brushes!!
