    Nesting scraps

I broke out the old plastic canvas a few months ago and created a little bin to hold my thread scraps while sewing. for the birds

This helped keep my table tidy. My knitting and weaving scraps also made there way into the bin.

Today I was really noticing an increase in bird activity through the window. I decided it would be a good time to gift my feathered friends with some nesting material.for the birds 2

Several years ago I did something similar for the birds.  I found some little bits of yarn in the front yard after a while so I know something was attempting to use the scraps.

Now I need to make a new bin for my scraps. Perhaps this one will be more visually appealing on my work surface.

    T Tuesday: collage card edition

I totally missed T stands for Tuesday last week. T stands for Tuesday_200I can’t even remember what I was doing other than not being on my computer.

I do know what I was obsessively making on Thursday though…collage card

I turned on some music, grabbed my scraps and began piecing together collages. I think I was inspired to make more after writing an article about my process. I’ll give you more of a heads up on that when it’s about to be published. 🙂 Honestly I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to say about it until it comes out so that’s all I’m saying for now.

    I’m such a tease…I know.

Today we are expecting a snow storm but we haven’t seen a flake so far. If it’s as bad as they say, Little J’s concert may be postponed tonight. In the mean time I’ll be working around the house. Exciting, huh?!?

    So…what are you doing today?

    Collage cards collage

Was that a confusing title or what?!?  But it is accurate. Thanks to my friend Patty, I now have a quick and easy way to make a collage or mosaic of photos… The program is called pixlr and I just love it!card collage2 card collage1These are just few of the cards I’ve made as of late.  I’d been slacking a bit on my etsy store inventory but figured it was time to get back at it.
