Bah Humbug

I’m not exactly sure why but I’m having a really hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year. It could be that our Minnesota winter has yet to arrive. We’ve had temps well above freezing and even a thunder storm on Monday. Super strange.

Last night and this morning we finally had a little bit of snow…very little. When I stepped outside this morning my first thought was “great…now it’s too cold to snow.”  If your not from around this neck of the woods that last statement doesn’t make a bit of sense. Too cold to snow!! Why yes, yes that is a thing that happens. I was right…the flurries didn’t start until it actually warmed up a little bit and didn’t last anytime at all. I’m pretty sure we will not be having a white Christmas.

Since I’m feeling all Bah Humbug I thought it was a good time to share some postcards I made ages ago for a swap. I wish I had taken better or more high quality scans of these so long ago before passing them along.

These were really fun. Perhaps this will get my snarky muse into gear as long as my regular one is either pouting under the Christmas tree or hibernating.

**** Merry Christmas ****

in case I don’t get another post up before then!!

I started everything early this year, but I am still behind! I think the weather has me not feeling very Christmasy as the predicted temps are near 60 degrees.

Your swaps did have me chuckling!

    Merry Christmas!

I somehow let time slip away from me this year. I got the tip-ins out OK, but the cards are so late, they may never reach their destination. I adore these postcards. They are adorable, and for some reason, do NOT remember them from before. Sometimes snarky is better than sappy.

Merry Christmas to you, too, dear Halle.

A snarky Christmas can be a kind of “merry” ;) and sometimes it’s a refreshing change.

I’m in Memphis, so I know all about “too cold to snow”. We usually just get skipped by snow entirely. There was a measureable amount of snow that fell on Christmas day here in 1913 lol, and we had measurable snow already on the ground in 1962, 1963, and 2004 (though none fell on the day itself). Around here the only way to see a white Christmas is in our dreams.

I especially like “eat, drink and be merry — or just drink” . No snow yet either here in Toronto — and it is supposed to be in the 50’s by the end of this week. ( right around freezing today) . But I’m happy for now snow, because I’m flying to the east coast on the 27th. Merry Christmas, Halle!

Your cards made me smile :-)!!!
    Humor is always good medicine.
I think it’s OK to feel what you’re feeling.
Not every year can be all jingly and merry.
We are still trying to find our fa la laaa…holidays just are not the same without my Mom. Being orphans and having no kids at home changed alot for us.
So we make merry the best we can not comparing it too much to Christmases passed/past.
Wishing you a Happy Christmas oxo
