T Tuesday: many things edition

Welcome to T stands for Tuesday! Last week was a cold one…record breaking. It was a crazy week for school as well. We started out Monday with a 2 hr late start due to snow. Then had 3 days off due to extreme cold. Friday was normal. Check out this little collage of images from my house.

I had ice on my wall next to the front door. All the windows were iced up…even the nail heads of the trim were frozen. The cold was desperate to get in. So much tea was drank…so much…of course, no picture because I’m forgetful sometimes.

Friday we had a normal day of school. Saturday Mini-me had an archery tournament in the morning.

She did well and is looking forward to the next tournament in a couple weeks. The day actually got so warm that I grilled steaks! Of course the deck had to be shoveled to even get to the grill but…details, details. Yummy grilled steak is totally worth it!

This morning we awoke to icy conditions but had our regularly scheduled work and school for all of us. The poor neighbor girl fell down her front steps on the way to our house from the glaze of ice. Several people fell at both schools I have contact with. Bad news!! I’m thankful I did the penguin shuffle and made it without incident.

Today is also J’s 19th birthday! It’s the first one I haven’t spent with him. *sniff* He is planning to come home next weekend so at least we won’t have to wait too long to give him a birthday hug!

I did a little journal work today but I think I’ll save that for tomorrow.

I am going to try and upload a video flip through I did over the weekend. The end got cut off when my phone started to ring but hey that’s life. Fingers crossed I did this properly again. I’m really thinking I need to just upload to YouTube…I’m just not sure I want to deal with all the haters out there. Everyone’s a critic.

I really enjoyed your post. I bet it was great to be at an archery competition indoor. I have only every seen them on television and they were outside.

It does look very, very cold where you are and I can’t imagine going out at all in such conditions I am afraid even if there is a little bit of frost-old age I guess.

Sorry J can’t be home for his birthday but it will be something to look forward to.

Your journal video was so beautiful. Every page had such beautiful ideas and I love that you wrote in your own hand on some of them

Have a very happy T Day

    Love Chrissie xx

Wow, the photos of the ice forming on the inside of the house looks like something you’d see at the north pole. How awful. I felt for you guys when your temperatures plummeted and school was cancelled due to it. The polar vortex froze Connecticut, but not as bad as that. (Ice formed along the beaches, but it was so cold I didn’t get there to take any photos, and due to the unseasonable warm up we had, it’s already breaking up and melting.) Happy T-Day!

Oh my that Arctic blast was the worst for so many! I hope that’s the last for this season. I used to enjoy archery class in school for gym. Now they don’t even include any longer which is a shame. Having trouble watching your video but what I could see were some lovely pages. Could be my internet so I’ll have another go later. Happy T day!

Gosh that was an amazing photo showing the ice around the frame, now that is some cold weather you were having. I’ll stop complaining about ours.
It was a super video and all your journal pages looked beautiful.
    Happy T day wishes.

That looks like my house in Webb City. No insulation and windows and doors icing over. That was brutally cold, and I worried about you in the cold, too. I hope Mr. G didn’t have to go to work, but I know that is his busy season.

I can’t believe it. I first “met” you when J was 7 and Mini-me was 4. I can’t believe we’ve been friends this long. Please wish J a happy birthday from me. You may have to remind him who I am (grin).

I tried to get your video to play, but it hung up four times in 24 seconds. I’ll try again later. Thanks for sharing the video, the cold of your house, the archery contest, and J’s birthday with us for T this Tuesday.

I allowed the video to completely load and finally got it to run without incident. I remember all of these spreads, and look forward to seeing the rest of them soon.

You didn’t mention if the fallers had any broken bones. I hope not. The thought just makes me cringe. I’ve never seen ice on surfaces like that and I’m from WI. Boy, you have my sympathy.

I enjoyed your flip through video. It gets a thumbs up from me ;-) Love the cover sentiment. The bird nest and feather spread is gorgeous! I love “almost forgotten” too.

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

We have heard about your brutal cold weather Halle. Those temperatures are just unbelievable. And I thought when we had -25 degree windchill weather it was cold. But even a few degrees can make a huge difference. Hope you have warmed up and had a happy T day.

We’re having highs in the 70s, and your icy record-breaking weather sounds hard to deal with. Hot tea would be a requirement! Happy late T Day

Oh boy, that looks positively arctic! How awful! I’m so glad you didn’t fall. Oh do be careful. A stupid little tumble can cause you to break a bone.
How wonderful to have an archery competition in the school. Well done Minime.
It’s a shame you can’t see j on his birthday. Is he doing OK out there? Settled in properly?
I watched most of your video. We have very slow internet and to watch a video I have to be patient as it is constantly buffering.
Well done for doing that. And also nice to hear your voice.
    Happy (belated) T-Day,
    Lisca

Now that’s cold!! Loved seeing the archery tournament! Archery is one of the sports I did for a while and one of my boys still does, although it was Field Archery. I loved seeing your journal video! Stay warm, Chrisx

We too experienced many delays and days off last week due to the cold weather. Our snow is finally melting but I hear the weather is to get cold again. I think I am ready for spring.
Archery sounds like fun. That must be very fun to watch.
And I love your journal flip. I wouldn’t worry about the haters. They are everywhere. I think people make a habit of being rude just for the fun of it. Sad but a reality in our social media driven world.
    Happy Belated Tea Day,
    Kate
