T Tuesday: beach edition

I’m very late getting to my T stands for Tuesday post.  I really wanted to get a workout in this morning…then there was grocery shopping to do.  After that we had a date with the beach. I, of course, had my trusty water bottle with me…20140624_5413

Our local beaches had been closed for a few days due to exceptionally high lake levels. All the area lakes are “wake free” zones.  No speed boating, trolling for fish, jet skis or anything that moves enough water to create a wake….that’s the V-shaped pattern in the water behind a boat for those of you without lots of water around. 20140624_5403The sand beach usually goes out to where the kids are playing.  They don’t’ seem to mind though. There were still tons of families out enjoying the day.20140624_5402It was just perfect.

Now since I’m well hydrated but still a little thirsty…20140624_5412

I think it’s time for one of these.

what a great way to spend a day :) it’s so calming to sit on a beach!
We have warm weather, it rained all night, but nice now :) I went to a brunch for my Grandson’s birthday–he’s ten. We went to his other Grandmas for crepes, strawberries, whip cream, homemade fruit sauce, and bacon…..as good as a beach, lol
    Happy Tuesday :)

Glad you had fun at the beach!

Water is not my friend now. Since our basement flooded last week, we have installed a sump pump. The house itself is okay, thank goodness, and it’s just an unfinished basement, but we are getting a Dumpster to get rid of some stuff that got damaged by the water. This is not the way that we were planning to clean out the basement. :)

    Happy T Day!

Looks like a wonderful, relaxing day…right down to that “adult beverage”. I’m not much for the sun anymore, but we have 2 small beaches right down the street from us. There are several around the lake and also only all sailboats, canoes, kayaks, rowboats–you get the idea, no motors.

Had to laugh, because even this land locked gal knows what a wake is. We have a man-made lake about 40 miles from here that has a wake free zone. Of course, the lake is so large, only a portion of it can be designated for that. Glad you and the kids had fun.

Enjoyed seeing a bit of sunshine in your back yard, too. But like me, it looks like there’s more rain in your future. Glad I got my front yard mowed before the rain hit about an hour ago.

Like what Debbie called your late afternoon drink. Thanks for sharing and thanks for joining for T this Tuesday.

I’m trying to figure out where the closest beach to Memphis is, but I’m guessing it’s Sardis, MS. I need to get down there sometime this Summer. I like your bright-colored water bottle!

Hello Halle, so glad you had a fun day and got a workout in, GO YOU!! I didn’t get my workout in and it rained so no beach today. We don’t get to the beach much but have been to the pool 3x so far and it’s still freezing. The kids only stay an hour then we go back home.
Happy Summer vacation and Happy T Day!
