T Tuesday: camp edition

T stands for Tuesday

We’re back from our 4th annual Mother Daughter retreat in Northern MN.

It was another great weekend.

We had a really cool cabin that we shared with approx 50 mothers and daughters. I think I heard there were around 250 of us total this weekend.

The weekend was filled with lots of activities such as hay rides,

archery

farm animals

and of course, horse back riding.

Mini me had a horse named Patches

and mine was Quilta. It hard to tell without a frame of reference but this is a very tall horse but just a sweetheart to ride.

We also did some craft projects. Two projects came home unfinished as there just wasn’t enough time.

We did complete our fairy garden.IMG_1005

and a couple of stamped leather pieces.

We had a great time, over-indulged on treats, laughed, got soaked in the rain, walked countless miles up and down the hills at camp and slept very little.

Sounds like a blast huh?

Now that life has returned to normal, I’m trying to get back to eating healthy again.

I’ll start with this green monster smoothie. I have plans to walk with friends later this week. If it warms up enough today, I may walk or ride my bike over to Paisley Park to pay my respects.

What are you doing today?

  1. Sounds like a great week, thanks for sharing the lovely photos. Your smoothie looks good, too. Have a good week, happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  2. Oh what a fun week you two had!!! I would have loved doing something like that with my daughter. Than smoothie looks great. I need to start drinking them again and just eating more healthy. Have gotten out of the habit lately 🙁

  3. Seems this event gets more popular every year. If I recall, the first year, you and mini-me spent more time crafting than participating in outdoor sports. Now it seems the sporting and riding events took center stage.

That smoothie looks good. When I first saw a special on Prince, I knew he was from MN because we had talked about it, but I nearly fell over when I saw where Paisley Park was located and all the money he donated to the middle school for the music program.

Thanks for sharing your smoothie and your mother/daughter weekend with us for T this Tuesday. It looks like you both had a good time. And to think mini-me resisted going the first time! Until she got there, of course.

  4. Wow- I would love to do this with my daughter. It looks like so much fun. Lucky you- mother daughter time is so important. 🙂 Happy T Day! Erika

  5. that sounds like a fabulous retreat-I would love every part of it!! And now i need to see what I can throw together for a green smoothie too:) Happy T day!

  7. This always looks like such a great event.
How wonderful that you have been able to attend over the years. Great photos of a time that was surely priceless.
    So very sad about Prince.
    Happy T Day Halle.

  8. Wow! What a great idea to have a mother/daughter retreat. It looks really fab. The cabin reminded me of the condo I stayed at on Lake Superior. Looking at the photo you had good weather too.
You did loads of fun activities, although i would have given the horse riding a miss. Love your stamped leather piece. Stunning.
Gosh I hadn’t realized you live so close to Paisley Park. Yes, the world mourns Prince.
Thank you for visiting and happy T Day!
    Blessings,
    Lisca
