T Tuesday: changes edition

This week is one of change. J heads back to college for the Spring semester. Our school is having its final week of the semester. Next week brings new classes for me and Mini-me, just to name a few.  With J heading back to college I’ll once again be expanding my crafty space to include the desk in his room. Perhaps then I’ll catch up with a couple of projects that have hit the back burner over the last month.

New projects

I’m creating an embellishment storage booklet. I was inspired by Gayle Agostinelli. So far I only have one page of the booklet completed. It’s not pretty but that wasn’t my purpose. I’m using up papers and extras that I’ll never use. It’s strictly utilitarian. Waste not, want not.embellishment booklet

I slipped a few random paper pieces in the pockets so they’d actually show up…

embellishment booklet

It will make better sense when it’s all put together but basically I want to have a book or booklet with all my small or fussy cut embellishments at the ready instead of searching through half a dozen places for just the right piece I know I own.

Another new project is actually an old one that I never started. The sketchbook project that I purchased over the summer. Of course, at the time the due date seemed so far away…now its only weeks away.sketchbook project page

I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of these pages in the weeks to come. My only disappointment is that the pages are so thin…any wet media really soaks through very quickly. I definitely have to keep this in mind instead of just intuitively creating as I prefer.

Last weekend we finally put away all the Christmas decor. I snapped this late even photo the night before for my obligatory T Tuesday beverage reference. T Tuesday obligatory photo

Something fun that just came in the mail that I had to share was our “free” Marvin puzzle.

Marvin puzzle

I say “free” because for the puzzle itself we had a coupon code making it $0 but then the shipping seemed a bit overpriced so they definitely were making their money somehow.

I snapped this pretty sky photo when I got to work this morning. The sun was behind a veil of thin clouds…it was a perfect orange disk. The view almost made up for the slick driving conditions from the overnight snow. Almost.snowy morning sky

Such a bummer…we’re getting snow again right now…in fact, we are getting snow basically every day this week during one or both commutes. Not fun.

T stands for Tuesday

What are you doing today?

Good evening, that is a great idea to store your paper accessories as you can see them really easily. Fun puzzle-and I loved the snowy photo-ours was melting away today-last night we did have a gorgeous full moon over the lake-today too cloudy.
    Happy T wishes Kathy

Good to be organized. I just have a big box and magazines…
I like the sketchbook. And the photo. Bleh, I don´t like snow, at least not when driving.
    Happy T.day anyways!

I store my collage sheets in binders;) They are a great way to keep organized. Nice to start a new year fresh with new adventures and art. You can have the snow though. Happy T day!

What a cool storage idea! Snow in your photos looks so pretty, but I know my view would change if I had to drive in it. I hope your commutes this week are uneventful. Happy T Tuesday!

Wow, your storage booklet is amazing and that’s a great idea to store all those bits and pieces too! I’m loving your journal too, you have created such beautiful and happy pages ?. I was wondering if a coating of gel medium would help strengthen the pages and stop the media soaking through? The jigsaw of Marvin is fabulous, what a star he is! I’m loving your photo too – brrr! Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x

My sincere apologies. As your host, I knew I had to show up for T, but it took everything I had to climb out of bed. I am running a fever of 101.8 F (38.8 C). I appreciate you sharing your drink with us this T Tuesday. Nice way to store embellishments and love the Marvin puzzle.

I need to copy your pocket binder idea, right now my desk is covered in die cuts and fussy cuts. I do have a folder with all my left-overs from Christmas, but like this year I won’t be able to locate that folder next year LOL!
    Your art journal is gorgeous.
    Happy T-day

That embellishment book is a fantastic idea. I need to make one of those since I have so many bits and pieces laying on my worktable all the time. And you do have snow. About twice as much as we do. Oh yes it is winter, isn’t it? I hope it was a great T day Halle and I hope your transition week goes well. Hugs-Erika

It’s good to organize your stuff, so it’s all in one place. I like the sketchbook art so far. (It’s funny how distant deadline dates can creep up on us, and then be right around the corner.) That Marvin puzzle (and photograph of him) is beautiful! He’s a very handsome cat. I liked how the sky looked in your last photo, but not how the parking lot and ground looked. Ugh. And the worse timing for snowfall is during the morning or evening commutes. Double ugh. Stay safe. Happy T-Day!

The embellishment storage booklet looks like a good idea, Halle. I know where all mine are because I stored them in an expandable folder designed for grocery shopping coupons. It works pretty well, except I have to go digging to get them out. Flipping pages sounds much easier.

Your sketchbook looks great! I had the same problem with the pricey planner journalI bought for 2019. If I don’t coat a page first, I’m limited to collage and dry media. I learned a about about different media in the process.

    The Marvin puzzle is darling!

I hated commuting in the ice and snow when I was teaching in NJ. Some close calls and one fender bender. I wonder how I survived it!

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

Nice idea to make storage for the small items. And how do deadlines seems so far away one minute and the next they are due any second? Have fun with the sketchbook. Cute puzzle. Hope you’re weather improves. Happy T Day

Good idea to make storage for It’s good to be organised. I’m organised in a lot of ways and very untidy in others. (A psychologist would have fun at this).
The puzzle is a lovely idea. (Lovely cat photo)
Sorry for the late comment. We have been helping friends move house (They are now living within walking distance)
    Belated happy T-Day,
