T Tuesday: grapevine wreath edition

Last updated : July 25, 2014

T stands for Tuesday_200Thanks for stopping by today for T stands for Tuesday. I’ve got just boring old water in my glass today. 20140725_6078We’ve been so busy lately that it feels as if I haven’t done anything creative.  But then I got to thinking that I had made something…

I had to cut out a grape vine from my garden. I had actually planted it there myself and now 2-3 years later I’m realizing that wasn’t the smartest plan.20140722_6068Just before tossing the vine into the yard waste bag I had a bit of inspiration. Why not make a grapevine wreath?! 20140722_6072

I left it hanging in the shed to dry. I figure since it gets pretty hot in there even with the vents it should help to quickly dry it out. I made it slightly bigger than I’d like since I assume it will shrink in the drying process.

I also had to share this gas station sign we spotted. It was over by the Falls and Mississippi river a couple weeks ago.

gas wowGotta love a good sense of humor.

Today and tomorrow are booked solid for us…I’ll be around to visit my T stands for Tuesday friends as soon as I can!

I had to laugh at the sign, but I hope you transplanted the grape cutting to a more sensible spot before you threw the rest away. I can’t wait to see what you do with your grape vine once it is dry.

Thanks for sharing for T this Tuesday. Hope your days slow a bit soon.

OMGOSH! That is the BEST sign.
With all the grapes that grown around here I have never made a grapevine wreath. My neighbor’s have one growing over the fence, out back. I may have to go do the pruning I’ve had on my list, and make a wreath too. I have to keep it pruned back, off our side of the fence, ’cause the dog eats the grapes till she gets sick. Yea, she not the smartest Viszula……..LOL
    Happy T-day

That is a great idea to use the vine and create a wreath out of it.

That sign would have made me smile, too. I never thought of trying to make a grapevine wreath–just pulled some off our bushes, too. Will have to try it!

You are very creative indeed to think of that wreath from some discarded gardening.

I remember eating grapes right off the vine in my backyard when I was little. They do take up a lot of space, though. I like your wreath. :)
