T Tuesday: outdoor weekend edition

This past weekend was beautiful for weather. Just perfect temperature, no humidity and no bugs! Amazing!!! I spent a good share of time outside getting my hands in the dirt. Still not the full garden but more containers and prep for the in ground planting.

I transplanted my tomatoes into larger pots to further develop a strong root system before planting in the ground. I’ve been setting the tomatoes along with the pepper and cucumber plants outside in the shade each day to acclimate them to the wind and fluctuating temperatures. Fingers crossed that they do well.

I have my ever watchful supervisor while I’m outside.

I planted a few containers as well plus the bare root rhubarb plants that came in the mail. It says that it takes two year before you can harvest anything. Bummer…I was really looking forward to some rhubarb goodies. (the bottle greenhouses will be serving as my drink reference this week)

What do you think of my bamboo trellis? I was just planning on a standard tepee like structure but then I got the idea to plant some radishes in the pot as well as snow peas. I came up with  this design so the climbers should stay in the center and the radishes can be on the outside edges…in theory at least. I wanted to plant snow peas but then realized I didn’t have any…they are still in transit so I went with pole beans. The next morning I found the stupid snow pea seeds. So I planted a couple of those as well. I figure I’ll keep whatever flourishes the most.

You know how I’m always repurposing things, saving stuff forever, trying to live a greener life. Well Mr G gave me a challenge. He wanted his “garage shoes” repaired since the back seam had completely come part. Other than that, they are still decent especially for outside working shoes.

Look at me….I’m a cobbler. The repair turned out WAY BETTER than I had ever hoped.

This year I decided to buy myself a little something for my birthday. Have been wanting a dot grid notebook for a while. I love making daily lists and wanted a little something prettier than the kids leftover spiral notebooks. Plus this is about half the size.

I started using it right away. I will likely make it a bit of a hybrid notebook/journal. Such as the page with the cupcake. I cut it from the birthday card my in-laws sent me. I wanted to remember the card but didn’t need the entire thing…plus my to-do list will be pretty short that day. Something needs to take up that space. ;)

I also ordered these washi stickers just because they were so cute. I’m sure they will make their way into my journal, cards and art.

We are getting takeout for my birthday. I do have to work (from home) and wash a load of clothes but other than that…I’m calling in lazy.

What are you doing today?

Your new grid journal looks like it will be perfect for prettying up your daily lists.
I hope your birthday turn out great! The take out is always my favorite part, a break from cooking is the best birthday gift a girl can get.
You have been busy. Great job on the cobbling.
    Happy Tea Day,

Happy Birthday Halle. Nice show fix. I have never tried to fix shoes but I fix clothes all the time. I don’t really like to do it, but it seems a waste to get rid of something that is still good elsewhere. And nice gardening. Happy T day too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR FRIEND. I hope it is great, even if you do have to work. At least you aren’t having to drive all over town to get to your job.

You are rocking that gardening. I’m impressed, especially with your bamboo trellis. SO much prettier than the pole I made last year to hold my fennel. Need bamboo? I’d gladly send you my whole yard.

Look at you being a cobbler. I am certainly impressed. Pretty awesome, if you ask me (and Mr. G, too).

Marvin is a great supervisor. He’s always fun to see and Bleubeard likes it that he’s not the only fur baby having fun on T day.

WOW, a dot grid notebook. Never seen one of those before. You have already put it to good use. I like that stencil because it has both a Euro and a Pound sign, in addition to the dollar sign.

Those washi images are incredible. I absolutely LOVE the florals. They are LOVELY. Good for you.

Thanks for sharing your fun, but busy week with us, including Marvin and your green house bottles for T this Tuesday. Again, have a super, happy birthday. I’m off to work on a gift for you (NOT because it’s still in the planning stage)!

Happy Birthday dear Halle! I hope your day is as good and as lazy as you hoped for.
Washi stickers. I haven’t come across those yet. They are beautiful. I shall look out for those when they finally arrive on my radar.
Your garden looks really impressive and you will look forward to eating all those lovely things (except the rhubarb, that is disappointing. You have to wait another year(!) for those)
I am impressed with your cobbler skills. So neat! Well done! I’m sure your husband will be well pleased as there is none so comfortable as old shoes.
Your note book looks just the ticket! I make lists every day!But I make a pile of used A4 computer paper and cut it in half, tie it together with a bull clip and I have my paper bloc. That is my list. (recycling!)
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

You are such a good gardener. Not sure there’ll be any garden (we share with our next door neighbor) this season, as she does all the plant/seed buying and planting and she and her hubby are still stuck in Fl. Oh well, there’s always the farmers markets:)
Good job on repairing the shoes. Nice journal you got and the washi stickers look like fun. Didn’t know they made those. Enjoy! Happy T day and happy birthday!

Your supervisor is so cute. Wonderful job you did with your garden. Himself has started a few things indoors. Still too chilly to put things outside. Maybe even snow this weekend ? Interesting trellis I need a new one for my morning glories. Great job on the shoe repair. My great-uncle was a cobbler. Happy Birthday! Enjoy your journal, stickers, and ruler. Happy T Day,too.

Happy Birthday Halle, I hope you had a lovely day. I loved the photo of your cat, he looked so comfortable in the box.
I am in awe of your shoe repair, it looks a good job and probably a longer lasting repair than at a cobbler’s shop.
The new journal grid looks great and the washi tape looks super as well.
    Happy T day wishes.

I like your trellis. I have a new clematis I’m not sure how to provide for and am considering a tomato cage but don’t think it’s tall enough. Congrats on the shoe repair. Great job!

Happy Birthday! and Happy T Tuesday!

Happy Birthday, I like all your planting, such a variety of veggies, I love Rhubarb but it doesn’t seem to grown here, maybe too hot, Steve’s brother had a patch that grew and grew over the years, it just overtook his small parch but it was pink and sweet, we used to come home with bags full, i love it with crumble.
well done with the shoe repair, I could have done with those needles when I was trying to repair the car seat cover.
    Have a Happy Weekend

First of all I hope you had a lovely time on your birthday – sorry I didn’t get here on THE day! I love all those pots and the thought of what will be on your plate one day! I saw your fab repair job on IG – well done!! I love the stencil book mark and those washi stickers – I tend to go free hand in my planner and add my own sketches when I feel like a little practice! Belated Happy T day! Chrisx
