T Tuesday: something’s missing edition

Good morning all! Welcome to another edition of T stands for Tuesday.

somethings missingI’ve got my beverage…how about you?  How is it that you never notice a dirty window or dusty surface until it’s displayed for anyone to see in a photo?? Early morning shots are the worst!!  Ok…moving on.

somethings missing

I think a lot of you will recognize this view out our patio door…but something’s missing?!!

Shall I refresh your memory?backyard

The playset is no more.  That era is over. Mr. G took it down yesterday.

We still need to dig out the sand box and remove the remaining wood. We’ll need to do some fill of dirt and of course some grass seed for the bare patches. The plan is to put a fire pit in that area.

I just can’t believe how much bigger the yard looks!

I once again have a long to do list today although I don’t plan to go anywhere today. I’ve been avoiding a ton of paperwork but I’m going to have to tackle it today.

I did check one thing off my list already this morning though…

vintage linen patch

Patching my favorite shorts. They are getting so worn out. I don’t dare wear them any place but at home for fear they will split open or simply fall apart. I keep stitching together the rips but this spot needed a patch. Why not something cute!?! It was a scrap of embroidered linen I had trimmed off for another project.

What are you doing today??

Perfect patch for your favorite shorts.
Amazing how changing one thing can really alter the view…a fire pit sounds like fun.
The sun tracks differently thru the months and toward the end of summer when it is much lower in the sky oh my!
    Happy T Day

When I first tried to determine what was missing, I thought you were referring to the snow, LOL! With the hot humid weather we are having, I thought, “Well, that’s refreshing!”

Pretty soon your teens will enjoy sitting with their friends around a fire pit–great idea.

I had jeans that had embroidery or patches everywhere! I like your lacy patch!

It can be sad when an era passes, but a fire pit is definitely something to look forward to!

I like that pot display on the patio.

What a sweet patch! They’ll look better than when they were new at this rate :)

I love the patch on your shorts! Your back yard is looking new and refreshed-and yet you’ll always be able to imagine the memories of the childhood play there. Great idea to have a fire pit! Happy T day!

What a wonderful garden you have, ample room to play, whether on a playset or around a cooking fire! I hope you will have many fun evenings there in future.
Paperwork is never fun. Personally I have slept through all Tuesday, as I am a night worker (still; will start school again in the fall). Also, we haven´t yet proper summer temperatures where I live (Sweden), but I´m hoping for next week, when I go on vacation!

Like Debbie, I too thought you were referring to the snow, lol :D A fire pit sounds like a fab idea and late evenings chatting beside it sounds wonderful. Happy T Day :D

I knew as soon as I saw the back yard what was missing. I guess the kids have outgrown the play area. I hope you found a couple with kids who were able to take it off your hands. So much work went into it, I can’t imagine turning it into firewood.

Sorry I’m so late today. My internet went on the fritz earlier, and it WOULD be the day everyone decided to post late on Tuesday.

Thanks for sharing your cute mug AND your patch with us for T this Tuesday. Your repair job is wonderful.

I LOVE your patched shorts! I figure anything patched makes it more valuable, considering how much the price tags are for the ‘designer’ ripped or patched jeans! Yard looks great…and no white stuff! have a great week!

Clever you! I don’t think patched jeans, or shorts, ever go out of style. You will be stylish even in your own home alone :-)

    Hi Halle,
We gave our swing set away to the neighbors a couple weeks ago. It is great to not have to mow around it, and yes the yard looks so nice and big now. I too, love the little patch on your shorts. I’ve been having fun sewing and improving some of my clothes. We need to get together again and catch up.

Love the patch on the jeans!!! I have a couple of pairs that I keep fixing up to wear and like you keep them on the home front…unless I forget I have them on when I run to the store :)

    LOVE the patch!!

Sad to see and era fade, but your yard does look a lot larger.

Thanks for the T-day visit and the lovely comment, sorry it took me so long to return the visit.

Yes i have noticed that phenomenon … when dirt and dust only show up when you want to take and post a photo…. I try to be careful to frame my shot just so but when someone enlarges it who knows what they will see… I’am so sorry for the late ‘flyby’ this week… things are crazy around here…

A comfortable pair of jeans, shorts or shoes are priceless… why do they only get comfortable when they get to the falling apart stage? :) Happy BELATED Tday!! Hugs! deb
