T Tuesday: watercolor edition

Over the weekend I decided to play with some watercolors.

For this first set, I began with stamping with Staz-on ink then came back in with layers of watercolor.

I really lik how they turned out. I’ll probably make cards out of them.

For this next set I decided to challenge myself a bit and try painting free hand then adding the black marker after.

These are really fun as well. I definitely need some practice but I imagine I’ll be at it some more. Its really fun!

My weekend walk took me along a familar path but this time I was surprised by 2 deer, 3 turkeys and a bunch…a gaggle…not sure what a group of baby turkey’s are called. I tried for a photo but they were into the woods too fast.

Instead you just get the path and secluded beach across the lake from the large beach. On my way back I crossed paths once again with the same group. It was really odd to me that they were all hanging out together. Perhaps safety in numbers.

It was a hot, sweaty weekend…lots of water needed.

This week has me working on house stuff. Boring I know. Hopefully I’ll do some fun artsy or crafty projects along the way as well.

What are you doing today?

Hi Halle, I love your watercolors! I haven’t had time this week to play with those again. You have a lovely place to take a walk. this time of year especially I think allot of the wildlife hang out together-at least that did back at our woods home.

I do like your watercoloring Halle. They are light and summery, and they will make nice front for cards. I saw some baby turkeys this past weekend too. There were a lot. I don’t know much about turkeys but I bet they have lots of babies in case they lose a few. HAve a great T day and stay cool. Hugs-Erika

I am in awe of your beautiful watercolors. I like the ones you colored and the ones you created. These are fabulous. I know they will make great cards, too.

You are lucky to be able to walk during the day. Here you would succumb to heat stroke because our temps have been in the 104F to 106F range. I can certainly see your need for ice water after a hot weekend if it was anything like mine.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful watercolors and your ice water with us for T this Tuesday, dear Halle.

Such a pretty variety of flower art. I think they’ll make lovely cards. The view out over the water looks peaceful. It makes a wonderful picnic spot I would imagine.

We don’t see turkeys here in the city, but I’ve seen them on vacation out in the woods and always they’re in little flocks. I’m always excited to see them :)

Your watercolors are beautiful. That looks like a nice place to walk. I usually see Wild Turkeys in groups, on the rare occasions that I see them. It probably is safety in numbers, especially with young ones in tow. Happy T-Day!

Your watercolor flowers will make really cute cards. We have herds of turkey. I think the hens and poults (young) just stay together as the females are usually part of a harem. That little park looks like a nice shady spot to hang out. It’s been so very hot and humid here, too. Stay cool and Happy T Day

I think you did a great job of painting free hand before inking the image. I may try that. I love the effect. Happy T Day!
