Last year I set some goals for myself so I figured I had better fess up and see what I actually accomplished.
I’m rating myself with a stoplight system for lack of a better way.

This is my 2010 list:

ART:

  • learn to knit -Need more practice but have the concept down
  • use the supplies I have instead of buying new -only purchased garage sale/thrift store supplies
  • finish my circles quilt –DONE
  • open an Etsy shop –open, stocked and have made 2 sales!
  • complete my Nature altered book –not yet but am getting closer
  • Be Creative Every Day -it’s not always art but I feel I do something creative most days

SELF:

  • get back to eating healthy –the holidays have been a set back
  • get back to my exercise routine –not at the level I want to be…goal needs to continue for sure.
HOME:
  • paint the kitchen cupboards –nope
  • plant more veggies –Yes..will plant more next year
  • de-cluttter in prep for a monster garage sale –YES! huge sale
  • repurpose and recycle more –hard to measure this one but I think I have

I must be a glass half-full kind of person because I see the goals that I haven’t quite met not as failures as some would but as stairs I have climbed on my way to the goal.
Over all I’m glad I made this list. Obviously, I didn’t do everything I wanted to but really…who does?  I’m going to think about my goals for 2011 now. I think accountability is a great motivator.

I feel as if it’s been ages since I’ve posted anything.
At least I had my Friday freebie scheduled to post…  I threw out my back on Thursday and today is the first day I’ve been able to sit at the computer without a great amount of pain and back spasms.

I have been slowly working on a couple things over the past couple weeks. Some miniature terrain and a 12 days of Christmas swap(which I can’t show full photos of until they are opened).

My girl and hubby carved some nice pumpkins over the weekend. I roasted the seeds and they are oh so yummy!

Stay tuned…I promise I’ll be back in gear soon. Feeling better each day!

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy July 4th!!

Am I doing anything special to celebrate Earth day…not really. Every day I try to be eco-friendly. I’m not perfect by any stretch but I do give thought to the products I use and the packaging it comes in.

I heard the other day that Minnesota is #2 in recycling in the nation! I’m so glad I have such great curbside recycling. I found out last week our county environmental center is now taking yogurt ( #5 ) cups at their site. Have to start a box for those that I don’t recycle into paint cups and seed starters.

I love to recycle clothing and housewares into other usable objects.  Below are a few examples of my recycled or maybe “up-cycled” projects. We have sweater hats, a t-shirt pillow, jeans quilt, bags from a denim slipcover and tablecloth, quilt from jeans and flannel shirts and a fabric bowl from dress shirts.

What are doing to celebrate Earth Day?

I’m also going to be wishing my good friend Elizabeth a very Happy Birthday! Hop on over to her blog to wish her a Happy Birthday and a chance at a  fabulous giveaway!

Remember…spring ahead 1 hour.

I’m not so fond of the loosing an hour of sleep part of the deal. Although it is nice when the kids sleep in….for once.
