Lately I’m all about the flowers.
Not sure why but they seem to show up in everything I do.
I’ve also noticed that I’m using lots of geometric shapes.
Circles and squares mostly.

This is on a 8×8 deep edge canvas. The edges have torn book pages around them then were washed with the same green as the polka dots on the front.

There are several layers of paint and papers on the background that most likely show much better in real life than the scan. The flower is cut from pages I’ve been tearing from my altered scrapbook.

I can finally reveal the full picture from the sneak peek I gave last week.

Theresa got her gifts in the mail and is very happy, so I’m happy too!

My friend Theresa sent me 3 pieces of a larger children’s puzzle to alter. The completed puzzle with pieces from various artists will be donated to ART FOR AUTISM NOW.

Before I began I tried to think of what I wanted to say in this piece. I just sat back and thought of my boy and how sweet and loving he is. He is my totally unique, one-of-a-kind, sweet boy who just happens to have autism.

I got a chance to play a bit today.

I’ve had this book sitting waiting to be inspired.

While cleaning up my table a bit, the ideas finally struck.

Boy these red ones took longer than I had expected. Not sure why red was difficult but it certainly was! I just have green, black and white. Theresa said we can combine the black and white. I’m going to give doing them separately a try first.

I’ve been jammin’ on these squares. I’m pretty determined to get them all completed before the first mailing date. This will serve several purposes including saving postage, freeing me up for other projects and most of all, not forgetting until the last minute. I’m usually not that forgetful but my mind has been REALLY scattered lately. Forgot my purse one day and my workout shoes the next. Must be that birthday sneaking up on me.

I’ve completed the next 2 colors in my long term swap. I love that I get to use up scraps and the little bits and bobbles I’ve collected over time. It’s really stretching me creatively too…coming up with so many unique designs.

I haven’t decided which one of each color I’ll be keeping yet.

Any opinions?
