I had decided I wasn’t going to sign up for anymore swaps that I had to make multiples of the exact same page again..at least for quite some time. My friend Theresa came up a long term swap that will eventually end up with a rainbow of colors. I was still reluctant to join until she said it was okay for each of the pages to be different.

I will keep 1 square from each set and the others will be part of the 5 for5 swap. In the end I’ll have 6 pages of each color. It will be a very chunky book.
From the purple set I’ll be keeping the page with the flowers and my name pin on it.
I’m torn with the blue pages…I’d like to keep 3 of them. I’ve got time before sending them to mull it over.

Which blue page is your favorite?

My father-in-law passed down this key from his Navy days to our son. It just screamed at me to make something with it.

I put machine screws into the wood so that the key is not permanently attached. Boy, am I glad of that!!! I know have a completely different concept brewing my my head.

We’ll see how my hubby likes this piece…if he LOVES it I’ll likely leave it alone but if not….I’m starting work on my other concept.

I made this 5×5 canvas piece for a friend that rescues chickens. Seriously!
She’s giving me eggs so I figured I’d make her a little something in appreciation.

In case you can’t read the fortune by the “C” is says Get off to a new start, come out of your shell. I thought it was mildly appropriate. :)
I hope she likes it!

Here’s my latest mixed-media piece on an 8×8 gallery edge canvas. The cylindrical hanging bead is one of my handmade paper beads.

Thanks for looking!

I completed my pages for the latest book I received in my current round robin.

The original drawings from the book were hand-painted by me with watercolor crayons. The chopsticks were shorten by breaking then shaping them in a pencil sharpener before a slight bit of whittling and sanding.

The bamboo was drawn then painted by yours truly. The fortune reads “The luck that is ordained for you will be coveted by others”

I’ve never done any Asian themed art before…at least not consciously. I did do a mixed-media painting a while back that ended up having an Asian flare.

Just playing a bit…had to do SOMETHING creative.

This is a very powerful piece for me. I had no idea what I had in mind when I sat down to create today. I had this old canvas laying around that I had covered over an unattractive collage with gesso. I grabbed it and started playing. This piece just sort of evolved from things I had laying around. Maybe it was a release for me…we’ve had some ups and downs lately. Hopefully everything is on the right track again…
