I was inspired to work in a board book today for something different. I started by gluing down random scraps of text from old books. I then brushed on several colors until I was pleased with the background.

I took out this image of my Grandmother, her sisters and parents to use. Wasn’t sure what the page would become but wanted to use it none the less.

Here are a couple of close ups of each side.

The 8×10 canvas board has had several lives, none of them pretty. So I keep covering them up and trying again.

This latest incarnation is in the style of Kelly Rae Roberts, well at least the background technique.

I think I was feeling like I needed a little warmth and sunshine. The flowers are fabric yo-yo’s.

The sentiment reads:
It’s the little things that make life Big.

I got some good advice on perspective and fixed my painting. (sorry the lighting is a little poor)

I had originally put the table in sort of wonky because my previous painting that also had a table always bugged me a bit as well. It appeared to be too flat like it was trying to climb up the wall. Now I know what’s wrong with that one as well. Not sure if that one would be as easy to fix.

I finished up my painting this morning.

I still need work on perspective. The table is bugging me because it seems like it is tipped up too far.

Anyone have any ideas for me for perspective…should the angle be bigger or smaller to make the table look flat?

Just thought I’d give a sneak peek at what I’m working on.

I haven’t done any painting for quite some time.

There are lots of layers on this canvas…I just keep painting over the old with gesso and starting over. Talk about getting my money’s worth out of this canvas!

After a morning spent thirfting, I decided to play a bit this afternoon.
I know that my hubby was crossing his fingers that the front lawn would be mowed when he returned but that’s not likely to happen. Sorry sweetie!

I used my “Just for Fun” AB to practice another tropical scene. I’m not satisfied with the one I created a while back for our upstairs bathroom. I have the vision of what I’d like it to look like but have yet to decide the medium. Maybe collage or another painting..who knows. It may be totally mixed media.
