This spring I got back into swapping postcards on Swapbot.  Of course, they have other things to swap but I’ve had the most fun with postcards.

Who doesn’t love getting mail, right?!

So what do you do with a big stack of postcards to make them a little more fun…

You make a book!

This one was a great size and had the perfect title.

I made 3 tiny signatures and attached them to the cover with a pamphlet stitch. I used a dry adhesive tape runner on the front side of each of the postcards to “tip” them into the book.

These postcards came from all over the globe…

Such as South Africa

 New Zealand

 Slovakia

And as close as the next state.

Years ago, before starting this blog, I made my first book to hold my postcards.

Kind of a cheesy title….

But I was happy with the the way a bound the signatures as well as attached envelopes to hold some extras.  Good thing too…the pockets are filled to the brim now.

Just a few quick postcards…

Elizabeth
put forth a challenge on ABC in response to a post about reducing waste while still creating art. She challenged us to create 2 pieces of art using junk mail and scraps only.

I dug in the recycle bin and pulled out a toaster waffle box and some junk mail for this piece. I hoping to make another over the weekend. Although it’s supposed to be BEAUTIFUL this weekend so I don’t know if I’ll be spending much time indoors.

I’ve been saving the wrappers from my chocolate indulgence.
The Chocolove bar is my favorite!

Spring is a busy time for Birthdays aournd here. This is the card I gave to my hubby last week. We are getting to the age that celebrating getting another year closer to middle age isn’t anything to celebrate.

I’m planning on ART-ing(act of random thoughtfulness) with the puzzle piece. So it’s a secret…SSSHHH!!

It seems like an eternity since I’ve had a chance to sit and play in my craft zone. It was refreshing to be free to create. Life has been getting in the way lately. Such is life, right!

The puzzle piece will likely be sent as a postcard. Yes it is that large!

The two altered books spreads are in my “just for fun” book. That book is so fun…no theme, no expectations, only playtime!

I made these late last night but was just too tired to get them posted.

I like these but not nearly as much as my first ones.

Here is my postcard poking fun at the chaos of some peoples Christmas. I’m glad our family has the “keep it simple” policy. :)

The second one is giving a little jab to some of the clueless husbands out there.

Glad mine isn’t one of them. Love you sweetie!
