T Tuesday: new supplies edition

Last updated : April 10, 2016

Hey, it’s Tuesday…you know what that means… T stands for Tuesday_200I am so excited about the new supplies I ordered. I’ve had them on my wish list for quite some time. T Tuesday new suppliesI’m already having fun playing with them. Yesterday, I used my gelatos to create this background. So much fun!!

I’ve also used the bubbles stencil with some molding paste and sprays on the cover of my Watkins journal. Amazing what turns up when you start organizing.watkins coverwatkins cover

Look at the fun texture!! watkins coverwatkins cover

I used a vintage map of Hawaii as the first layer to cover the bright orange covers of the original cook book. Why Hawaii? you ask… Why not?!?!  I love the colors on the back…kind of wish it were the front. watkins journal

Here’s a little recap of the pages inside. It certainly was a quick little journal to fill.

While admiring my new supplies…I had a friend join me for tea….gracie

Oh so helpful cat when trying to work and get organized. “Here let me sit on your lap so you may have the privilege of petting me.”gracie

She’s not so happy to get her photo taken. Just look at that crabby face. Likely because I stopped petting to take the photo.

I’ve got grocery shopping on list today…

What are you doing today?

I did not guess that the new supplies (looking at your previous post) were gellatos! The bubble stencil is great and could look like stones, too. They really give a lot of texture with the paste.

I have a very small set of gellatos but have not had a chance to try them out yet.

Our grocery shopping was done before the ice came. Today we’ll be staying off the streets lol I’ve never seen a bubble stencil, but I like the effect.

I’m with Debbie. I would NEVER have guessed the gelatos. In fact, I’m not sure I even know how to spell them, because I have never seen them before, except on others’ desks. Had to laugh about your desk, though, because it was sweet of you to show the broken “paint palette.”

Gracie looks like the perfect helper to distract you from your clean-up. Mine know they aren’t allowed in my craft space because they are both much furrier than she is. She is definitely a beauty, though.

Thanks for sharing your tea, new supplies, and Gracie with us for T this Tuesday, dear Halle.

fabulous textured page and journal! I just bought a set of three gelatos with a coupon so I can see what they’re all about but haven’t played with them yet. Your kitty does look like she wants to be left alone:) Happy T day!

Love what you’ve done with the journal ♥ I have 3 cats that do the same to me whenever I am trying to work on something. Makes it difficult to work some days.

Wow Halle, this journal is gorgeous! really love the textures and collages…

You asked me about a ‘visual’ versus ‘art’ journal in your comment on my blog, and I guess I’ve always just used them interchangeably…never thought about it really, except to distinguish from a writing (diary-type) journal. so for me, visual and art journals are pretty-much the same ~ good question! there may be others out there who are wondering the same thing…;)

I would not have guessed gelatos on the pages, either. I agree that the bubbles with the paste look like stones. Love all the texture. Enjoy your new toys!!
What did I do? I spent half the day trying to get my post up with a video–LOL! Happy T-Day! :)

Hello and Happy T Day late! WOW, these pages are gorgeous and the texture on that one is awesome! I can see that you did have fun. Funny how cats like to be petted at the time we are busy with our hands. Mine will sit and meow till I finally give in and give him attention. Hope you are warm there, we are at -26 this morning. Thanks for sharing your amazing art journal with us.
