T Tuesday: no name edition

Last updated : February 28, 2016

T stands for TuesdayIt’s Tuesday again…time for T stands for Tuesday hosted by Elizabeth. Grab a cup and stay awhile.

hot tea

The past week is one of those I’d like to forget ever happened. Instead I’m going to talk about some pleasant things like what I’ve been doing with the 3D printed items Mr. G has been creating. There is a fantastic resource out there called Thingiverse. It has CAD files for 3D printing for an ever growing number of things anyone can imagine.

Anyone familiar with Game of Thrones??

Hand of the King

Hand of the King…just after I started the sanding process.

Hand of the King

a little more smooth…nearly ready to paint.

Hand of the King

Did you know that a red base layer makes gold deeper and richer?

What do you think? I think it looks pretty awesome…aw crud… except….

that the photo should have been taken in this orientation. Such as this. DUH!

Oh well…no one is perfect. I blame my everlasting cold virus for my lapse of clear thought.

That’s it for today…more projects to come.

What are you doing today?

I’m striking out all the way around. First, I came to visit, then my computer froze and quit on me. I went back to the very basics and started from scratch. Even ran a defrag hoping it would speed things up a bit.

I have never seen that movie, show, or whatever it is. Yep, I live in the dark ages, apparently, and it appears that must be where this image is taken from. But I’m super impressed with the hand and sword. Really cool that you are able to create something so wonderful. I can see this in a mixed media piece. I’d LOVE to have one of those printers (but guess I’ve said that before).

Thanks for sharing this with us for T this week.

Wow! That is amazing! What a machine! No, I have not heard of Game of Thrones, but then we can’t go to the cinema here and we don’t have TV. (Don’t know if it is a tv programme or a film or even a game…)Whatever it is The Kings Hand is beautiful! Well done and thanks for showing us.
I did giggle at you rude gesture, lol.
I haven’t linked up yet for the simple reason I have not written anything yet. I will soon. We are in a bit of a situation here, which is will be resolved but you will read about it in my blog later on.
    Happy T day

I am in total awe of 3D printers and from this project I can see you are going to be making a lot of really cool things. I’m a GOT fan–have seen all the shows and read all the books except for the latest which I don’t know if it is even out yet!
Thanks for sharing this on T Day!

We don’t have cable, but I’ve seen the first 2 (3, maybe?) seasons on DVD. I tried the books and found them long-winded and tedious. Not the tv series lol. Have you seen the video that explains what it’s like to read the books? It’s hilarious.

I think playing with the 3D printer will be great fun!

OH YES! I am a BIG fan of GOT!!! and recognized the “Hand of the King” immediately!

That is so cool! I cannot even imagine how fun that 3D printer must be to play with.

I did not know that the red underpainting is what makes the gold so much richer looking…..good to know. Thanks for sharing.

    Happy T-day

Fun to see what your 3D printer produced. I didn’t know about the red under gold trick, thanks for the tip.
