T Tuesday: rainy days edition

After nearly a week of perfect weather we are now stuck in system after system of rain. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal but I’m trying desperately to get a garage sale together. Last Tuesday afternoon we made that decision after the two charity organizations I had lined up fell through. No one could get the stuff out of mom’s apartment by the deadline. So guess what…everything is in our garage.

I’ve been pricing what I can, shifting things from here to there. What a nightmare. To top things off I’ve got two home sick today. Mini-me and Mr. G…some sort of horrible virus. Sore throat, fever, cough. I’m trying my best not to catch it from them…I don’t have time for that!!!

On the bright side I got a sweet gift from our hostess Elizabeth for my birthday.

Such cute vintage kiddos in the corner. Thank you!

On a day like today I’d like to be living the life of leisure like a cat. Marvin has the right idea. A little nap, then a snack, some bird tv out the window then back to nap time. I could definitely give that a whirl.

Thanks for sticking with me through the chaos of my life right now.

What are you doing today?

  2. Sounds like you have it all going on at the moment with the garage sale after clearing out your mum’s apartment and two people who are unwell to look after. I hope you get to relax like Marvin soon, by the way he looks so content and adorable all curled up! Stay well my friend and Happy T Day! J 😊

You would think Marvin was the one doing all the moving , pricing and work for the garage sale:) Too bad the charity donating didn’t work out. That tends to happen here more often than not either. You call, schedule something, then they don’t show. I was lucky to donate a carload full just yesterday to a nearby place that will sort thru everything and have a huge sale to support the Cancer Society-a win win! Take care so you don’t get that virus. Happy T day and good luck with everything!

Oh my it sounds like you are having a rough patch. I hope you get the garage sale over soon and then you will be able to go forward.
Marvin seems to have the right idea, try and get some time for yourself as well.
    Happy T day

  5. My day wasn’t very busy as I am still recovering but I did manage to find a little energy to do some art. That was exciting. You look like you have your hands full. Hugs-Erika

  6. Sorry your crew is under the weather. Hope everyone feels better soon. We finally broke out of the cold, rainy, weather. Sunny and warm today. I want Marvin’s life. Happy T Day

  7. My sincere apologies. After I got home and sat down at my computer, I promptly fell asleep in the chair. Just now woke up.

I was surprised you got your meager gift so quickly. The postal person added the two extra stamps. He wouldn’t give me a choice, just stuck them on. At least I was quick enough to say NO metered mail thingy.

I’ve heard of these types of problems happening with charities. There were a few BIG pieces of furniture that Sally and I couldn’t get in her car, and they FINALLY sent a truck for them. However, they took over a month and several calls before it happened. So, I can empathize. At least you are having a garage sale. We just ran all over town for weeks passing bags and bags of good stuff out. LOVED the photo of the cups and mugs.

So sorry about mini-me and hubby. I hope you are immune.

Sleep, eat, poop, sleep, repeat. The life of a cat. Marvin at least has “cat TV.” Mine could care less, since my TV is on all the time just for the background noise.

Thanks for sharing your incredibly busy week with us for T this Tuesday.

  8. oh yikes, you’ve got a full plate, that’s for sure! hope you at least had a nice birthday…Elizabeth’s art work is pretty sweet! Good luck with the garage sale, and Happy T Day a bit late!

  9. You’ve had so much on your plate this year, Halle. My heart goes out to you. Since the charity donations didn’t work out (shame on them), have you considered just giving most of the things away? I mean, have a garage sale and giveaway. Save yourself the trouble of having to put price tags on every single thing.

What a thoughtful and charming postal surprise you got from Elizabeth. Her timing is magical.

I hope all the family is well soon and that you don’t catch the bug. There certainly seems to be a lot going around lately!

    Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen
