T Tuesday: this and that edition

Once again I have one of these posts that I’m all over the place both mentally and physically.

Tomorrow is our 23rd wedding anniversary. With it being mid-week, we are planning to do basically nothing until Saturday. Then we’ll be having sushi!

I thought this was clever. My neighbor gave me a few of these quite a while ago. Funny the things you find when digging out for a garage sale!

You wouldn’t believe the piles of stuff I have sitting around waiting to be priced and brought to the neighbors on Thursday morning!! Mr. G has a ton of stuff from the garage too. Hopefully the vast majority will sell…not really wanting that stuff to come back into the house.  Garage sales are a lot of work but when doing it with others it can be fun and having the bonus of getting rid of stuff while making a little cash is a super bonus.

I transplanted my seedlings into larger containers yesterday.

They are doing so well. I also planted zucchini and summer squash in pots on the side of the garage.  I’ve read that they can be grown in pots so might as well give it a try since my in-laws aren’t having a garden this year.

I snipped the end off my mint plant and put it in water a few days ago…look at the crazy roots it grew in such a short time.

If I get a chance I want to make a wreath for our new front door. I really shouldn’t be worrying about that right now since I still have to get it painted, I just need to do something crafty every so often or I get cranky.

Speaking of crafty….look at this dessert I made for Easter!

It was so decadent and sweet. Almost too rich and sweet if there was such a thing.

The rest of the week will be a whirlwind. Appointments, garage sale, anniversary and J heading to NYC on Saturday. It’s likely a really good thing that I am insanely busy until then because I think I’d be making myself sick with worry if not.

What are you doing today?

Happy Anniversary wishes to you both.
The garage sale sounds good, we don’t have them here in the UK, but I think they are a super idea. The seedlings look so healthy, they will be ready for your garden soon.
    Happy T day.

garage sales are a lot of work but yes fun when you do it with others. Your seedlings are looking great. And your cake-wow-decadent for sure-it would probably put me in a sugar coma:)Have a great week and happy T day!

  5. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. LOVE the tea pot (and quote), too.

Sally and I were going to have a garage sale, then she decided to just donate all those bags and bags of stuff she didn’t want last summer. So, I don’t have enough to have one on my own. It’s great you can have one with others, because it draws a bigger crowd and offers more for everyone.

I want to know what is in that Easter dessert. I am salivating right now, because I see chocolate, walnuts, and tiny Reece’s peanut butter cups. Is that cream cheese frosting?

Glad you are busy because I know you will worry about big J, but remember, there are lots of chaperons going, I’m sure. I know it’s the trip there and back that will worry you, but I’m sure all will be fine.

Have a super sushi Saturday anniversary, and a great time. Thanks for sharing your plants, your wreath, your dessert, and your tea pot with us for T this Tuesday.

  6. Happy Anniversary to you both and enjoy your Sushi on Saturday – sounds perfect! It looks like you are very busy at the moment and the flowers you have chosen for your wreath are beautiful, I can’t wait to see it when it’s finished. Take care and wishing you a Happy T Day! J 🙂

  7. Wow you were busy! Good luck with the garage sale.. I love to visit them, but never made one by my own … too much work – I am just lazy. I donate my old things to the Caritas sale and also buy many things there. That’s always a win win situation for me. Get rid of what I don’t need anymore and make some nice finds there for little money.
Happy Anniversary dear Halle! Enjoy your Sushi!
    The dessert cake looks tempting!
    Happy T-Day!

  8. Happy T Day and good luck with all that is happening for you this week. Hope the garage sale goes well

    Love Chrissie xx

  9. Wow. What a cake! What kind was it? I get the must do art or I get cranky because that is me too. Happy T Day. Hugs-erika

  10. Gorgeous cake, Halle. It looks delicious too. Good luck with the garage sale. They are tons of work but it always feel good when they’re over, the house is decluttered and you pocketed some extra cash.

Happy anniversary and Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eleen!

  11. Happy anniversary! I wish you a super day on Saturday (with lovely sushi).
I would love to go to a garage sale, but they don’t do that sort of thing here. There is a second hand market in town on a Sunday morning. A bit like the British car boot sales. I actually think the Brits started this local Sunday market.
Good luck with you garage sale. I bet you have lots of fun. And who knows, it might pay for some extra sushi!
    Belated happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  12. I know what you mean about getting cranky if you can’t craft! In the UK we are more likely to have a car boot sale than a garage sale – although they are often in draughty fields and can get quite crowded! Your cake looks delicious – Happy Anniversary! Chrisx

  13. Happy Anniversary!

It’s good to see how well your seedlings are coming along. I love how cooperative mint is lol I may try my hand at a door wreath this year; I’ve never made one before.

Your dessert looks truly tempting 🙂

Your thoughts are important to me...thank you for taking the time to leave a comment today
