Here’s a peek at the start of my latest sewing project.

The circles are all recycled clothing.

Any guess what it will be?

I just love this close-up of the stack of colors.

It’s the only “art” I’ve been doing lately. I had 2 dresses, a pair of shorts, a pair of capri’s and a pair of pants to mend. My girl and I are apparently hard on clothes!! Truth be told…only the capri issue was mine but she wrecked the others all on her own.

I’m planning on adding some “artistic” patches to a couple of the girl’s clothes just because the repair would be way too obvious without some sort of embellishment. I need to get some embroidery floss back from my mom before tackling the “artistic” patches. Hopefully I can accomplish my vision and share my fix with the group.

My baby lost her first baby tooth…

It was time to decorate the pre-made satin pillow I had bought specifically for this purpose years ago…when my 1st baby lost his first tooth.

NOTE: A pocket pillow hanging on the doorknob makes it much easier for the Toothfairy to do her job.

I let my girl pick out all the decorations…she seems to have a pretty good sense of color. Although sometimes you’d never know it by the outfits she puts together. Good grief!!

I loved the look of my fabric ATC’s so much that I decided to make a small purse in a simliar fashion. It totally reminds me of a crazy quilt.

Hopefully very soon I’ll have my finished purse to take when I go shopping!

It was such an overcast, cold crumby day that I needed to find something to do in the house and I certainly didn’t feel like cleaning today.

I made this bag to carry my “park-play” items. Water bottles, mini first aid kit with instant cold pack, my cell phone, sunscreen and sometimes a snack. I do still need to put a closure on the bag but haven’t decided if I’ll have the flap go inside or outside. I’ll likely just use Velcro since it’s quick and easy.

The denim is from another chair slipcover and the patchwork came in a bag of scraps I got in a free box at a sale.
Total cost of project: virtually nothing…just my time and a little electricity.

These are for an Anything but Paper ATC swap.

I took a scrap of old table cloth and started randomly sewing fabric scraps on using different colors of thread and stitches. It was fun playing with the different settings on my machine.

I took a ATC template and traced the proper sizes on the back then cut on the lines. I did a zigzag stitch around each to hold everything together.

You’ll see in a few days.
