T Tuesday: end of season edition

Last updated : April 11, 2016

Ah here we are…the end of summer. Gardening is all but done. Leaves are turning and falling at a rapid pace around here. The birds and critters are frantically storing food for the long winter. IMG_0614

I ripped out the plants from the home gardens yesterday. I still have plants in my in-laws garden that will come out next weekend.canningI’ve been canning like crazy. More spicy beans and salsa. I’m really looking forward to breaking into those jars come the dead of winter!!

I also have to share my colorful carrots.carrots

Aren’t they pretty!! I sampled a couple and they are quite tasty. These are going in my next beef roast dinner. YUM!

My important phone call I mentioned last week came but not with the results I had hoped for. Such a bummer!!! I really thought I had that job! I even had gotten a tour of “my work space” at the end of the interview.

BAH!! Anyway…moving on…

Since I don’t have a regular gig to go to, I’ll continue to do my on-call subbing. At least that leaves time for art!

I’ve actually done a bit of creating! Will wonders never cease! IMG_0617I completed one art journal page and just need to put the  final touches on a second. Waiting for paint and glue to dry. The above page isn’t my favorite but I was just happy that I still had the drive to create.

I’ll be meeting with some friends for breakfast today…real casual. Likely head there after working out…seriously casual. :) Not exactly sure what the rest of the day holds for me…other than a shower. HA!

What are you doing today?

that garden produce looks sooo good-and those carrots-wow! It is so nice to have some of those jars of fresh veggies to warm up with when the cold winter sets in. Sorry to hear about not getting your job. I hope that means that a better one awaits you:) Great journal page and affirmation! Happy T day!

Very colorful carrots! Not only will they taste great, but they will look great, too! The canned veggies will be a welcome taste of summer when the snow is falling all around you. Sorry the job did not come through like you hoped. At least you have the subbing work.

Great to see the fruits/vegies of your summer labor/garden waiting for you in jars!
Those carrots look like a picture and are beautiful. You must have some wonderful soil to be able to grow those Halle.
Hope your dream job comes to you soon.
    Lovely journal pages you created.
    Happy T Day to ya.

Those spicy beans and salsa look delicious as well as the wonderful carrots – I so love carrots – eat them nearly every day! I really think that those colorful selfgrown carrots are so much better than the ones that I buy.
Finger crossed for the dreamjob- it will come along soon I think!
Great pages – super that your muse came across!
    Happy T-Day Halle!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many colors of carrots!
I’ve had that happen to me a couple of times! Awk! They say they love you and show you where you’ll be working–and then it falls through. Something better will come along. It did for me both times. Happy T-Day! :)

Sorry to hear you didn’t get the job you wanted….bummer!
I am so ready to get my garden patched cleaned out and ready for winter. It is much cooler here today so you may have inspired me to get with the program and get it done.
I don’t know if I could wait for winter to dive into your canned goodies!! They have my mouth watering and now drooling on my key board…LOL And stew with those carrots….I’m in for that too!
Glad you had some creative time, and even if you don’t care for your journal pages, I thought they were great!

    Happy T-day

I’m so sorry the job didn’t turn out. It’s a sad letdown when that happens.

But just think. Now you have more time for making art and fixing wonderful meals you have grown. Those carrots are unbelievable. I’ve never seen such a range of color before.

I was also impressed with your canning. I’m so in awe of the jars and they look so pretty, too.

Thanks for sharing your garden goodies, your art, and your canning skills with us for T this Tuesday. I have to admit, it was 92 F here today, so summer is still hanging on, as is my garden.

I forgot to mention, you may not have read about Darla’s home in the mountains. I saw video yesterday about the area. Her home there is completely gone, ravaged by fire. That’s one of the reasons why she didn’t share T with us this week. She was there when the fires started in that area, so was very lucky to get out.

I’m sorry you didn’t get that job. When one door closes, usually another one opens.
Thank you for visiting Tuesday, have a good week.
