T Tuesday: Mammoth edition

Last updated : April 10, 2016

T stands for Tuesday…you know what that means…I’m linking up at Elizabeth’s blog for our weekly virtual tea party.

mammoth muffinI’ve got my snack…how about you?

too big for the mug Just look at the size of that Mammoth muffin from Perkins. No affiliation…my kids just love the place.  We went out with my mom and I skipped the toast and brought home a little bit of sin. Now that my muffin is out of my mug I can enjoy a bit of coffee with my sin.

Last week for T Tuesday…on Wednesday I mentioned I would be sharing some news. I finally got an interview for a position I applied for about 7 weeks ago. Sadly, I didn’t get the job. Not the news I was hoping to share but I guess it wasn’t the right place for me right now. That’s ok…I’m still subbing and this way I have a lot more flexibity.

workdeskOver the weekend I started cleaning up my crazy workspace…only to get sucked into art journaling. I saw that nice empty space and there is just some sick need of mine to immediately fill it with something. I got called away from creating and cleaning for that matter when it was decided that it was time to do some rearranging of the house.

I executed some fish gave our fish a whirlpool ride…then took down the aquarium. It was sitting on a desk that would be much better served as a homework station than supporter of several hundred pounds of water.game areaIn its place we put a much smaller antique desk that holds misc game supplies such as cards, dice, paper and pens. Since this is in our game area we decided to group some vintage toys and games to fit with the theme. The mason jar is filled with random bits and pieces from old games.

The other desk went into Little J’s room…where the antique one had resided previously. But we still were not done with organizing…

cat cubbyLittle Js room has this very awkward space that is about 4ft off the floor.  The space has  always been a collector of crap junk treasures. While measuring for the desk we realized that one of these 9 hole cubbies would fit perfectly in the opening. We left the back off the bottom three squares since there is still a good 2.5ft behind it…just in case stuff fell behind, we’d be able to retrieve it.  Look…someone has her own clubhouse now…

I’m not entirely sure what my plans for the day are but I do know I’ll be checking out the other T stands for Tuesday posts. :)

What are you doing today?

I hope you didn’t leave that little piece of sin anywhere moggie could find it. But no – she isn’t licking her lips. Isn’t it amazing how kitty cats have to find a hidey hole. Mine loves baskets

Gracie has turned that nice storage wall into a perfect resting spot (FAB photo!)
Now that muffin looks like quite the treat…cuppa sin now and then ;)
About you not getting the news you hoped for…
that just means you are still available for something even better down the line ♥
Your game area looks great and I know exactly what you mean about clearing a space and it filling faster than you can say Jack Rabbit (you know I just woke up and made that up…wonder if it is a real saying…oh well…no matter)
Happy T Day to ya Halle

what a decadent muffin-though I rarely eat sweets the p. butter choc. combo is an absolute fave of mine! You have a good attitude about the job thing. I believe you ARE still awaiting for the right one to come along. In the meantime, keep enjoying the added art time. Kitty looks perfectly content in her own little cubby :)

Hello and Happy T Day! I want a muffin like that right now, I’m in the mood for something sweet. We went to Perkins a lot growing up, my nana lived near one and we would pick her up for lunch. Such a sweet memories, she’d get a grilled cheese and now that is my favorite sandwich to get when going out.

I love when a clean desk still pulls you in to make another creative mess and fun. YAY!!

LOVE that little cubby hole space, wish we had those in the kids room. They just throw everything into the bottomless pit of the closets and no one wants to clean it out.

Thanks for sharing with us today!

What a sinful way to start my day, dear. Now I’m craving that. I deserve it after doing several loads of laundry instead of visiting my T(ea) pals. I even hung them on the clothes line, while the next load was in the washer. BTW, I’m still not done with the laundry.

I love what you’ve done with the games and I STILL love that picture you drew. It found a perfect spot, didn’t it?

When I first saw Gracie, I did a double take. I agree with Patty. It’s one fabulous photo. Thanks for sharing your organized spaces with us today, dear friend.

I forgot to mention, that pancake was NO optical illusion. That was a HUGE plate and before I cut it in half, it stuck out over the edge of the plate. Note my eggs and potatoes plate, and see how much larger it is. Also, you can use Sally’s hands as an indication of the size of the plate and pancake.

Don’t worry, you will get the right job at the right time. That is how things work I guess.
The muffin on the tea cup looks so yummy. Your art desk inspires me to start creating.
Love that antique furniture. I also like the two paintings you have hung on top of that.
    Have a great week.

    Happy T-Day!
That’s one yummy looking muffin! I know I should cut back but I have a sweet tooth.
Sorry that you didn’t get that job. The next one will be an even better one.
What a perfect storage solution. Love the look of the kitty’s eyes … like it’s saying “my spot!”.

I am waiting for the last of my fish to die in my ten gallon so I can tear it down and move it to the garage for a while, but I can’t ever bring myself to do the fish flush dance. ;) Love the new cat clubhouse. Cute little writing desk.
    Happy T-Day!! :)

What a fabulous art space! I wish I had something like that, but with my mother living with us there are simply no extra rooms. Rearranging and organizing is the way I clean, but it doesn’t happen often enough!

Someone certainly looks all comfy in their new cubby! I’m sure that mega muffin gave you the necessary fuel to do all that rearranging! The antique “game” desk is beautiful. Never got around to putting up a T Tuesday post this week. I really must start earlier!
