T Tuesday: Spring snow day? edition

Last updated : April 3, 2018

We all have our fingers crossed for tomorrow. We are getting snow and seemingly lots of it so we might as well have the day off if we have to have snow after Easter. The weather reports are saying 6-9 inches.

❄ UPDATE: Snow day!!! ❄

Enough about the crummy weather and on to the art journal.
collect beautiful memories

I created this page with a layer of randomly cut squares and rectangles using both heavy card stock and a textured chocolate box.

collect beautiful memoriesI used a combination of stains, distress paint, gelatos and charcoal sticks to create the variation of color.

I layered my “found relative” image over a fussy cut flower photo, paint stained baby wipe and frayed fabric. The paper clip had just the right patina so it found its way on the page as well.collect beautiful memories

I adding some distressing to the photo which started as a printed image. I used gel medium to adhere it to card stock to give it the weight and stability of a photo of that age. I scuffed up the edges then wet misted them before dragging across a distress ink pad. I ended up accidentally creasing the image in a couple of places with added authenticity in my opinion.

Linking up with Art Journal Journey for the theme: Recycle and Collage

I also need to share my photo challenge recap.

16. Money …..accidental collection of money I’ll never spend

17. Green

18. Bread ….lunch

19. Season ….it’s supposed to be Spring…right?

20. A note

21. Oh No! …someone is disturbing Marvin’s peace

22. Last thing I bought …arrows

23. Candy

24. Perspective ….grilling with snow on the ground  (imagine that I’m having a nice glass of wine with this…photo not included)

I’ve officially abandoned the rest of the month. This month was difficult and not very inspiring. I’m taking April off from the photo challenge scene.

So Tomorrow…Tuesday…I’ll either be shoveling the going to work or just shoveling. I’m hoping for the latter.

What are you doing today?

Wow great job on this piece-lots of details I really love it and thanks for sharing the techniques you used.
Oh my I won’t complain about our bad weather after reading you could get lots more snow-that would be depressing for me this time of year.
    Happy T Day Hugs Kathy

You created a great texture page. I like the idea of using cut cards. They look cool! And really give your page a little 3D too. Happy T day and hope your snow is over! hugs-Erika

That is a fabulous first entry for Art Journal Journey. I really LOVE the spread and such great use of a chocolate box. I was super impressed with the colors, the texture, and the composition. I was thrilled you shared it with us at Art Journal Journey.

That’s a great number of photos. Sometimes when they don’t speak to us, it isn’t worth the effort. Since you won’t be playing in April, perhaps you will have more time for art. I DID like the “note.” Clever.

Thanks for allowing me to use my imagination of you grilling and drinking a glass of wine. It was the perfect ending for T this Tuesday.

loving the pattern of square shapes on the left side-and the charcoal outlining sure does the trick for adding depth. Beautiful spread! And ugh, that snow- and we got it too. It IS Spring isn’t it?
    Happy T day!

I’m done with snow. Don’t want to see another flake. I almost cried yesterday at the 2 inches that we got. I wish Ol’ Man Winter would hit the road. You made a lovely page for your found relative. Cute picture. Love your photo collage. Snow disturbed Marvin’s peace. Oh, wait, snow disturbed my peace. Happy T Day

I love the whole spread, Halle, but the boxes side is awesome! The way you distressed, colored and arranged them is absolutley stunning. I could see that hanging in an art exhibit.

More snow? Oh, no. I wish I could send you some of our weather – mostly 80s already, but we’ve had a couple of 90+ days. By May (our hottest month), I’ll be bemoaning the heat – lol.

I’m late to T again. Sorry! I’ll catch up one of these days ;-)

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
