Sunshine and flowers

Dare I say that spring has sprung. At least that’s what I’m hoping.

The warming temps, melting snow and spring break have me thinking Spring.

I partially covered my book pages with scraps of paper then used gelatos blended with baby wipes to give some soft pink color to the background. It was a little too pink so I used a palette knife to drag thick white paint over the top.

I knew I wanted some flowers so I drew them lightly with a pencil then filled in around with gesso. After it had dried I came back in with a black colored pencil. I cannot find my charcoal pencil anywhere!! The black outline made my flowers pop.

Now that I had flowers and PINK it was time for just the right words.

Happy Spring!

Fabulous spread, Halle. The colors are so soft and romantic. I can actually feel like you had spring in mind when you created this. Pink and brown go so well together, too. Thanks for sharing this spread with us at Art Journal Journey.
